Are you having difficultly affording safe utility service? There are a number of programs that may be available to help. Depending on where you live, how many people are in your household and how much money you make, you may be eligible for assistance. Contact your utility company for additional information on the specific programs they have available.
The Dollar Energy Fund’s Hardship Program assists eligible utility customers with their gas, electric and water bills. Eligible customers receive a one-time grant applied directly to their utility bill.
Customer Assistance Program
Customer Assistance Programs (CAPs) help make monthly payments more manageable for utility customers. The guidelines of CAPs vary from utility company to utility company, but the goals are the same: to help you keep up with your bills.
Each utility company has a variety of universal service programs. These programs vary by utility, but usually offer payment and weatherization assistance to eligible customers.
Our Water Assistance Program consists of two parts: a grant through Dollar Energy Fund’s Hardship Program and a 65 percent discount off the customer service charge portion on the monthly bill.
Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program
The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) is a federally funded program available to help eligible customers in Pennsylvania with their heat bills.
