6th Annual Warm Your Hearth, Touch a Heart campaign kicks off October 29

Hearth & Home Furnishings, Peoples Natural Gas and Peoples TWP are teaming up for a sixth year to help local, limited-income households maintain or restore basic gas utility service with the Warm Your Hearth, Touch a Heart Campaign.  Following a kick-off reception on October 29, 2014, at Hearth & Home Furnishings in Zelienople, The Warm Your Hearth, Touch a Heart campaign will run from October 29 through December 31.  During this time, Hearth & Home Furnishings will donate a portion of their sales to Dollar Energy Fund’s Hardship Program, which provides one-time utility assistance grants to families facing a utility crisis.  Peoples Natural Gas and Peoples TWP will match the donation and all funds will be used to help limited-income families stay warm this winter.  Tickets to the kick-off reception are $25 each, with $20 per ticket being donated to Dollar Energy Fund.  The evening will include food provided by The Springfield Grille, beverages, music, raffles, and a silent auction.  For ticket information, please call 724-452-6732.

Why:      To raise funds for the Dollar Energy Fund and keep low-income families warm this winter

Hearth & Home Furnishings will donate a portion of their sales from October 29 – December 31 to the Dollar Energy Fund. Peoples Natural Gas and Peoples TWP will match the donation. All funds will be used to provide direct utility assistance grants to our less fortunate neighbors in Southwestern Pennsylvania.

The Warm Your Hearth, Touch a Heart Campaign has provided over $71,000 in utility assistance to local households during its first four years.  This amount of funding allowed for approximately 205 local, limited-income families to maintain or restore their basic gas utility service.

Direct donations to the Warm Your Hearth, Touch a Heart Campaign can be made online at www.dollarenergyfund.org (select “Warm Your Hearth Campaign” as the donation designation) or by sending a check to Box 42329, Pittsburgh, PA 15203.  Contributions can also be made by adding one dollar or more to your monthly Peoples Natural Gas or Peoples TWP bill.  All donations are tax deductible and will receive a dollar-for-dollar match.
