DEF Earns Highest-Possible Rating From One Of The Nation’s Premier Charity Evaluators

[June 2, 2014 – PITTSBURGH, PA]– Dollar Energy Fund, a Pittsburgh-based nonprofit specializing in utility assistance, has achieved the highest-possible rating from Charity Navigator, one of the nation’s premier charity evaluators.

For the 5th consecutive year, Dollar Energy Fund has received Charity Navigator’s four-star rating for sound fiscal management and commitment to accountability and transparency. Charity Navigator uses its highest rating to indicate that an organization adheres to good governance and other best practices that minimize the chance of unethical activities and consistently executes its mission in a fiscally responsible way.   Only four percent of the charities rated have received at least five consecutive 4-star evaluations, indicating that Dollar Energy Fund outperforms most other charities in America.

In a congratulatory letter, Ken Berger, president and CEO of Charity Navigator, stated, “This ‘exceptional’ designation from Charity Navigator differentiates Dollar Energy Fund from its peers and demonstrates to the public it is worthy of their trust.”

“We are honored to receive this wonderful designation for the fifth year in a row,” said Chad Quinn, chief executive officer of Dollar Energy Fund. “As an organization, we strive to uphold the highest of standards as we work to fulfill our mission.  We are grateful to Charity Navigator for recognizing for our continued efforts.”
