About Bridgeland Solar:

Formerly Sangamon Solar, the newly named Bridgeland Solar project is helping to build a secure and sustainable energy future in Sangamon County, Illinois. Sitting on approximately 650 acres, the 100 MW project will help to power the equivalent of 23,600 Illinois homes.

As a company dedicated to developing and delivering innovative energy solutions with long-term impact, our projects create jobs, build community partnerships, generate revenue for local governments and schools, and protect the environment. In Sangamon County, Bridgeland Solar will create about 200 jobs during peak construction and generate about $17.7 million in tax revenue for the county and local schools in Chatham and Auburn.

AES will be the owner and operator of the facility and is proud to be a part of this community. We are members of the Springfield Sangamon Growth Alliance, as well as the Chatham Chamber of Commerce.

About Dollar Energy Fund:

Dollar Energy Fund is a 501(c)3 organization whose mission is to improve the quality of life for households by providing utility assistance. For over 40 years, Dollar Energy Fund has provided over $383 million in utility assistance grants to more than 1 million households.

About the Bridgeland Solar Program:

As a neighboring property, and RECC customer, to the upcoming solar facility, Bridgeland Solar extends an exclusive opportunity for enhanced energy cost benefits. With your participation, Bridgeland Solar, in collaboration with Dollar Energy Fund, commits to providing a monthly payment of $50 towards your electric utility expenses for a duration of three consecutive years. These payments will begin following the commercial operation date of the project, which is expected to be in December 2027.
