Pennsylvania Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)

The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) is a federally-funded program available to help eligible customers in Pennsylvania with their heat bills. When the program is open, eligible customers must apply for LIHEAP funding prior to applying for a grant from Dollar Energy Fund.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for LIHEAP, customers must have a gross (before tax) income at or below 150 percent of the Federal Poverty Income Guidelines.

How To Apply

LIHEAP applications are available at your local County Assistance Office. Call or visit the office in your county for more information on how to complete an application. A list of county assistance office locations and contact information can be found here.

You will need the following information when you apply for LIHEAP:

  • Names of everyone in your household
  • Birthdates of everyone in your household
  • Social Security Numbers for everyone in your household
  • Proof of income of everyone in your household
  • A copy of your most recent utility bill
