Dollar Energy’s Fund’s 18th annual Warmathon, held February 12, 2026, raised $346,624 during the radio-based fundraiser hosted on KDKA Radio (100.1 FM and AM 1020 KDKA). The effort will provide heat-related utility assistance to 962 additional households through Dollar Energy Fund’s Hardship Program.
All donations were matched dollar-for-dollar by Dollar Energy Fund’s utility partners, including Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania, Duquesne Light Company, FirstEnergy and Peoples. Marty Griffin and Larry Richert led the on-air efforts, encouraging listeners throughout the day to support neighbors in need.
The Warmathon was powered by Dynegy, a longstanding partner that continues to demonstrate its commitment to supporting Western Pennsylvania customers facing hardship.
Additional campaign sponsors included Alco Parking, Allegent Community Federal Credit Union, CentiMark, Citizens, Demilio Heating & Cooling, EQT, Exus Renewables, First National Bank, Fyzical Therapy, Impact HVAC, Junkluggers of Pittsburgh, LeMont, Levin Furniture, MediConnect, Metropolitan Window Company, Monte Cello’s, Nest Expressions, NRG, Phillips Heating and Air Conditioning, Sarver and Evey True Value Hardware & Rental, Tudi Mechanical Systems, and UPMC.
New this year, the campaign also featured an online auction hosted on Givebutter. Many businesses donated in-kind items to support the auction, including Atencio Hall Attorneys at Law, Audacy Pittsburgh, EQT, Greater Pittsburgh Tree Service, Lovey’s Golf Center, Junkluggers of Pittsburgh, KDKA-TV, Southside Plumbing & Heating, Swimming Pool Discounters, Tudi Mechanical Systems, Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers, Nasco Roofing & Construction, Pittsburgh Marriott, Pittsburgh Penguins, Pittsburgh Steelers, WPXI-TV, and WTAE-TV. All auction proceeds were matched, and 100 percent of the funds raised support utility assistance for local families.
Warmathon donors at various giving levels were also eligible for a variety of on-air incentives throughout the day, including gift cards, appliances, tickets, and more. Dozens of incentive items were generously donated by Cucina Bella, Cousin’s Roofing, DeNunzio’s, Giant Eagle, Hickory Heights Golf Club, LeMont, Monte Cello’s, Napa Prime Chophouse, Oakmont Bakery, Off The Hook, Olives & Peppers, Original Yinzer Dogs, Phillips Heating and Air Conditioning, Pittsburgh Panthers, Pittsburgh Penguins, Pittsburgh Pirates, Pittsburgh Steelers, Prime Butcher, Sarris Candies, Scuilli’s Pizza, Smallman Street Deli, The Pub at 333, and Voss.
Those who donated $180 or more became Neighborhood Heroes and were entered into a drawing to win free utilities for a year. A contribution at this level, when combined with the utility match, provides one household with critical utility assistance.
Since 2009, the Warmathon has raised more than $3.4 million to help limited-income households maintain safe and stable utility service.
Thank you to every donor, auction bidder, sponsor, volunteer, and partner who stepped up to support this year’s Warmathon. Your generosity reflects the very best of our community, and because of your commitment, hundreds of local families will have the warmth and stability they need during the coldest months of the year.
While the broadcast may be over, the need continues. Those who would still like to make an impact can contribute at www.warmathon.com.
