Counting down the last week

Alright everyone, we’re down to the last week! In the Dollar Energy Fund office we’re preparing silent auction gifts, confirming shirt sizes, double and triple-checking golf details and looking over the catering list one last time. We have more than 30 foursomes registered for the annual event, which is a new record. This isn’t your standard golf outing, either. We try to make this event as fun for our attendees as possible considering how much they are helping our cause: families in need.

All proceeds from this event will go directly toward local families and individuals who are struggling to afford or maintain safe utility services. What’s more, 100 percent of proceeds will be matched by our partnering utility companies. So, your foursome registration or that silent auction item that looks appealing will go much further than you might think.

And that “fun” we mentioned? Golfers will start the morning early by registering and helping themselves to breakfast from 7 to 8 a.m. We’ll have a shotgun start (scramble format) at 8 a.m., followed by a morning of 18 holes and some competitions that can earn prizes. Just a few include a longest drive, a closest to the pin and a longest putt competition.

Throughout the course, golfers can enjoy drinks and conversation with industry professionals, community leaders, members of the Dollar Energy Fund Board of Directors, business owners and many more of your Western Pennsylvania neighbors.

Come inside after your team finishes and spend some time bidding for designer goods, gift cards, unique experiences, tickets, sports memorabilia and more at the silent auction table. After a message and brief presentation from our CEO, enjoy lunch and the awards presentation.
