Can you believe it’s almost January? Now that the holiday season is over, we’re getting ready for one of our biggest fundraisers of the year, the 2016 Cool Down for Warmth. This year, we’re building a three-room house made entirely of ice in downtown Pittsburgh. We’ll spend all day Thursday, Jan. 28, and Friday, Jan. 29, in Market Square constructing the house and helping people in and out of it.
Many Pittsburgh business owners, and “celebrities” of sorts, have volunteered to sit in the house until they raise a minimum of $1,000 per individual or $2,500 per team for Dollar Energy Fund. You can help them escape the ice house by donating to an individual or group fundraising page, here. We’re still accepting volunteers to sit in the house, as well. While the fundraising goal might seem daunting, we’re here to help every step of the way.
Whether you choose to sit in the ice house, help someone else escape the house or simply stroll through Market Square too see what all of the fuss is about, we hope you’ll remember that every penny of the Cool Down’s proceeds will be matched by our partnering utility companies and will directly benefit Pittsburgh families who will struggle to stay warm this winter.
