Winning Big: Dollar Energy Fund’s Penguins Fan Appreciation Night Raffle

Dollar Energy Fund teamed up with the Pittsburgh Penguins to create the ultimate fan experience and raise funds for local families in need of utility assistance. Five finalists were selected from a pool of 1,314 entries for our one-of-a-kind Fan Appreciation Night Raffle. Each finalist received two suite tickets to watch the Pittsburgh Penguins vs Washington Capitals game on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at PPG Paints Arena.

Before the puck dropped, each of the finalists had the opportunity to reach into their gift bag and pull out a hockey puck. The finalist who received an unsigned puck was granted participation in the Shirts Off Our Backs selection process and received an autographed, game-worn jersey from Bryan Rust (#17). Congratulations to our grand prize winner, Patricia Van Tassel! Patricia and her grandson, Colin, made the trip from Connecticut to enjoy the game together. It was a memorable night for both!

Thank you to all of the Penguins fans who purchased raffle tickets. Each $5 ticket resulted in a $10 donation to Dollar Energy Fund, with a dollar-for-dollar match from our utility partners. In total, the Fan Appreciation Night Raffle raised $13,140 in utility assistance. All proceeds will be used to help our neighbors in need restore or maintain basic utility service.
