Through the combined effort of Peoples and our supporters, the Peoples #HelpYourNeighbor Livathon raised $1,085 to benefit Dollar Energy Fund and our neighbors in need. With a dollar-for-dollar match from Peoples, the two-hour virtual event raised a total of $2,170 in utility assistance.
The Livathon took place on Friday, May 15, 2020. Peoples hosted the unique fundraising effort on Facebook Live to bring the community together to help families in our region during this challenging time. Supporters tuned in to hear from special guests, community leaders and local musicians. Our friends at the Pittsburgh Penguins, Pitt Athletics, Lernerville Speedway and Pittsburgh Pirates provided a variety of giveaways during the event, such as autographed sports items and event tickets. Local musicians like Tim Vitullo Band, The Redlines and Urban Heat Island, rallied their fans to support this cause and give back to their neighbors in need.
The Livathon would not have been possible without our generous utility partner, Peoples. Peoples provided a dollar-for-dollar match to all donations raised during the campaign. The staff at Peoples understand the struggles that families across our region are facing today, and their efforts to help our neighbors in need are greatly appreciated.
Dollar Energy Fund also wants to extend a big THANK YOU to everyone who tuned in on Facebook Live and donated. Because of your generosity, Dollar Energy Fund is able to assist thousands of local families every year.
