2026 Jim Escovitz Memorial Golf Classic Recap

This September, Dollar Energy Fund hosted its annual Golf Classic, proudly sponsored by First National Bank. We welcomed 28 foursomes to Quicksilver Golf Club for a beautiful day of friendly competition, fun, and fellowship.

Since 2023, the Golf Classic has honored the memory and legacy of our late Board Member and dear friend, Jim Escovitz. Jim was the longest-serving Board Member in Dollar Energy Fund’s history, dedicating more than 17 years to the organization. The day kicked off with our fan-favorite Bloody Mary Bar, light breakfast sponsored by Simpson McCrady, and coffee from Hunter Brothers Coffee. At 8 a.m., golfers hit the course for 18 holes, with opportunities to participate in the 50/50 raffle, and other contests. Hotdogs at the turn kept everyone fueled for the remainder of the game. Our hospitality sponsor this year was Pennsylvania American Water.

Back at the clubhouse, golfers put their skills to the test in our iconic putting contest, sponsored by Atencio Hall Attorneys at Law, for the chance to win prizes including gift cards, scratch-off tickets, and autographed Penguins memorabilia.

Following the round, guests enjoyed a buffet lunch sponsored by Exus Renewables and had the opportunity to bid on exciting silent auction items sponsored by EQT Corporation. The lunch program featured remarks from CEO Chad Quinn and Jim Escovitz’s sister, Kathy Meihl, who shared reflections on Jim’s legacy and impact on Dollar Energy Fund.

Congratulations to Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania, our overall first-place team! Columbia Gas also successfully defended its title in the Utility Cup, an annual competition among our utility partners established in 2014. Along with bragging rights for the year, Columbia Gas will receive an additional $1,000 contribution to its hardship fund, and its name will be added to the Utility Cup trophy.

Guests also received a special parting gift: a custom-distilled bottle of Maker’s Mark created specifically for Dollar Energy Fund, sponsored by KeyBank.

Our golfers, sponsors, volunteers, and supporters help make this event possible while raising critical funds to support families and individuals in need. As always, 100 percent of the proceeds from this event will be matched by our partnering utility companies and will go directly to help families in need.
