Dollar Energy Fund is preparing for a busy giving season! While our goal is to raise funds to help thousands of families who are struggling to afford their utility bills, we like to offer fun and exciting events so our donors can share in the joy of helping others.
A recently released report by the National Energy Assistance Directors Association shows that consumers will likely pay record prices to heat their homes this winter. While some of us prepare to face the imminent winter weather with tire changes and flu shots, many of our neighbors are worried about keeping their homes warm and safe for their families. Please consider participating in one of our upcoming events and together we can make a difference in the lives of many this winter.

Following the reception, Hearth & Home Furnishings will donate a portion of their sales to Dollar Energy Fund’s Hardship Program. Dollar Energy Fund and KDKA are currently planning the 2018 Warmathon, a two-day radio/telethon event on NewsRadio 1020 KDKA. The Warmathon has raised approximately $2.99 million and helped more than 8,695 families over the past 9 years. The Warmathon will ask listeners to make contributions by calling into the studio-based call center, donating online, or texting a keyword to give. The two-day event will feature many incentives, including the annual dinner with Bishop David Zubik. Donations in support of the Warmathon will make sure families and seniors in our area don’t have to face the winter without utility service.
